Licensed Funeral Director/ Embalmer

My name is Kat. I have always had a love for people, devoting most of my adult life taking care of people. Before starting my career in the funeral industry, I graduated from Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. Often feeling as if the funeral industry is a calling, I began working at Dickson Funeral Home in 2018, and shortly after began John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, TN, graduating with an Associates of Arts in Funeral Directing and Embalming.

I am a Tennessee native, being born and raised in Murfreesboro, before making Dickson County home in 1994. In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, which include, Jason; children, Dennis, and Brittany; and two grandchildren, Danielle, and Waylen. I enjoy being outdoors, whether its gardening, taking care of plants, or sitting with a good book, but most of all, watching the grandchildren, whether they are playing softball, baseball, or cheerleading, is my most favorite.

Although the death of a loved one is tough, my goal and purpose as a Funeral Director, is to be of service in a professional and empathetic manner in helping those families in which I have the honor to serve.
