William Samuel Irvin

William Samuel "Sam" Irvin, a retired paper mill worker and resident of Waverly, TN, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the age of 83, at his home. Sam was born April 7, 1938 to Olen and Esther Garner Irvin. Sam served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing. He is survived by two sons, Tommy (Debra) Irvin and Brian (Brenda) Irvin; a daughter, Sherry Irvin; daughter-in-law, Tammy Irvin; a sister, Judy (Leo) Tyra; a brother, Terry (Candy) Irvin; sister-in-law, Sandra Irvin; four grandchildren, Chris (Tabitha), Bobby Jo (Nate), Marty and William (Melodie); three great-grandchildren, Logan, Patrick, and Jackson; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Annette Irvin; his parents; a son, Bobby Joe Irvin; and a brother, Bobby Irvin. Sam will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. There are no services at this time.
