Samuel "Sam" Jake Dozier

Samuel “Sam” Jake Dozier, age 45 of Craggie Hope, TN, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Sam was born July 15, 1977 in Denison ,TX to Donald and Sara Dozier of Pottsboro, TX.

Sam will always be remembered as a big hearted, joyful soul, who loved to make people laugh, and feel comforted in times of their own personal needs.  He loved, especially deep, his son, all of his big family's, and extended family's back in our native Texas and across the states. Sam gave alot selflessly to be here for all his loved ones as long as humanly possible. Sam had tremendous faith, believed in the power of prayer and looked forward to the afterlife and being welcomed by his many loved ones.  

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Donald and Sara Dozier of Craggie Hope, TN; son, Dayton Boyd Dozier and his mother, Tracy Slaughter of Haltom City, TX; sister, Julie McCrary of Craggie Hope, TN; companion, Desirhea Walden of Pottsboro, TX; nieces and nephews, Eden McCrary, Tucker McCrary, and Nolen Bilbrey; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Sam is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Fay Dozier; maternal grandparents, Ben and Florence Beard; and uncles, Homer “Deedie” Beard, Joe Dozier, and Gordon Rasmussen.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.; and will resume Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Kendrick and Bill Allen officiating.
