Mark Steven Lane

Mark Steven Lane "Pops", age 69, of Dickson, TN, passed away August 24, 2021 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center. Mark was born November 10, 1951 in Dickson County, TN, to the late Roy Alton and Susie C. (Watkins) Lane. Mark was an avid musician, playing until his fingers bled, and he would keep on playing. Mark had a band by the name Crossover, often touring and playing out west. He also had the opportunity to open shows in the 90's for Little Jimmy Dickens. He has played with serveral bands, including Crossover, Hartless, Southern Rain, and Silver Creek. He loved to cook for his friends and family that was his 2nd favorite thing to do. He enjoyed going camping at Loretta Lynn's Ranch and being with people. He loved any and all kids and was always happy and smiling to be around them, often giving each one their own nickname. Those left to cherish his memory is, wife, Wanda Kay Locke Lane, also known as, "Burt", of Dickson, TN; four sons, Bobby Shea (Crystal) Manor of Hartsville, TN, Jonathan (Beth) Locke, Michael (Donna) Dotson, and Todd Dotson, all three of Dickson, TN; two daughters, Dana Crystal Manor of Charlotte, TN, and Stephanie Lane (Moe) Davis of Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, Scott Brennan Lane of Wisconsin; three sisters, Debra Mai Sylvis, and Sarita Sue Lane, both of Dickson, TN, and Ina Lisa Lane of Alabama; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Scott McFall of Dickson, TN. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Kallie Lane. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, August 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:0 p.m.; and will resume on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, August 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Fews Chapel Cemetery.
