Jerry Martin Ivey, age 71, of Fairview, TN, passed away July 26, 2020 at his residence. Jerry was a great carpenter. He helped build homes all over Williamson County and surrounding counties with his uncles, brother, and cousins. His last job was his favorite, working on a farm for Julie Thomas. He was a true cowboy, he loved horses and always wearing a cowboy hat. He loved playing horse shoes with his friends. Thanks to all who helped take care of Jerry in his last days. Jerry was born in Davidson County, TN on February 11, 1949 to the late Isaac Albert and Palsteen (Welch) Ivey. Jerry is survived by two daughters, Jessie Mae Ivey of Cunningham, TN, and Rebecca Lynn Ivey of Louisiana; a brother, Ronnie (Diane) Ivey of Fairview, TN; two sisters, Carlene Mangrum of Lyles, TN, and Karen (Jack) Dye of Erin, TN; two grandchildren, Cason Nicholas Hale and Johnny Martin Ivey Ponder; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Martin Ivey. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Gillette, Dwight Ivey, Jason Ivey, Michael Branon, Josh Brannon, and Cason Hale. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eddie "Lucky" King, Donnie Ivey, Jack Thomas, Wilson Sullivan, and Joe Guire. Visitation will be at the Fairview Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 2:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and will resume on Friday, July 31, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home; with a burial to follow at Ivey Cemetery in Fairview,TN.
