Gladys Ellen McElhiney

Gladys Ellen McElhiney, age 89, of Dickson, TN, passed away at her residence on June 26, 2023.

Gladys was born May 16, 1934, in Dickson County, TN, to the late Ed Lewis and Birdie (Garnes) Pruett.

She loved music and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, and quilting. She was a wonderful cook. She also enjoyed bowling, as she used to bowl on a league with her church team.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ed McElhiney; a son, John Dale McElhiney; brothers, Ward L Pruett and Gene Pruett; sisters, Ruth Pruett Evans and Carolyn Baker; two grandchildren, Brandi Nicole Hodgin and Jedidiah Stinson; and two great-grandchildren, Austin McElhiney and Brody Simms. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Timothy Edward McElhiney, Connie (Charles) Stinson, and Kim (David) Hodgin all of Dickson, TN; six grandchildren, Leslie, Chad, Derek, Sonya, Wesley, and Daniel; and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 1, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on July 1, 2023, in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Pruett Cemetery.
