George Fredrick Wireman was born in Alger, Ohio on June 10, 1946 and passed away peacefully May 10, 2023 in Dickson, Tennessee. He graduated from Kenton High School and served in the US Navy as a decoding specialist during the Vietnam War. Always humble, he was an accomplished mechanical engineer with a degree from Ohio Northern University, a master’s from the University of Akron, and a master’s from the General Motors Institute as well as earning awards for innovation and dedicated service.
He filled the world and those he loved with laughter and joy and security. The most important thing about George is that he loved his wife and children tremendously and was full of determination, patience, perseverance, grace, and love.
George is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Linda Jane Shadley Wireman; his children Sean Fredrick (Mia), Matthew Scott (Ashley), and Sarah Elizabeth Harlow (Justin); and nine grandchildren: Katherine, Caroline, and Andrew Wireman; Eliza, Addison, Henley, and Hays Wireman; and Holly and Lila Harlow. George was a rock upon which they all depended and built their lives.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date.
