Carolyn Macdonald Foster, 84, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2020 in Nashville, Tennessee. Carolyn was born on September 20, 1935 in Seminole, Oklahoma to the late Harold Oscar Donham and Verna Holderfield Morse. She is predeceased by her adopted son, Samuel Christopher Burrow and late husband, R.F. James Macdonald. She is survived by her husband, Jessie Lynn Foster of Nashville; brother, Robert Morse and wife, Debbie of Houston; her son, Rodney Macdonald and wife, Renee of Arlington Texas; daughter, Dana Macdonald Winans and husband, David of Dallas; daughter, Jamie Macdonald of Nashville; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 nieces all residing in Texas and her lifelong friend, Jodi Hudson of Mack, Colorado. Carolyn worked for American Fidelity Assurance where she was recognized for her outstanding service to her clients and her company. She treasured serving educators from primary to college professors in Oklahoma and later in surrounding states which lead to her promotion to management and her relocation to Nashville. For those who knew her, Carolyn leaves a legacy of breaking glass ceilings for women in the workforce during the 1970s, 80s and 90s, catapulting her career far beyond social norms for the time. "Meme Carolyn" as she was lovingly known by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was always the life of the party and the first to take you on a shopping trip when she got into town. Her love and happiness poured over into her loved ones and they will miss her dearly. The family appreciates Alive Hospice of Nashville for making her last days peaceful and comfortable. A memorial service will be held February 29, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Unity of Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee with visitation at 12 p.m. Burial service will be held on March 21, 2020 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma with interment to follow. A tribute in Carolyn’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Alive Hospice of Nashville. Arrangements by the Dickson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 209 E. College Street Dickson Tn.
