Benny Helem Hollis, Sr., 71 years of age, passed away April 1, 2023 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center.
He was born January 25, 1952, in Nashville, TN, to the late Alva Frye and Betty Frances (Daugherty) Hollis.
Benny was an avid fisherman, who carried the nickname, “Catfish King.” He loved hunting, vegetable gardening, and getting in the car and taking off for a drive. He was musically inclined, playing the drums and harmonica; however, his main instrument was the Bass guitar. He was most definitely a family man who loved his children, grandchildren, and had a love for all children.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Hollis, Tim Hollis Myatt, Terry Dean Hollis, and Randy Hollis Rinaldo.
Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Gail Hutcherson of White Bluff, TN; two sons, Benny Hollis, Jr. (fiancé, Jennifer Hall) and Joel Hollis, both of White Bluff, TN; daughter, Ava Hollis of White Bluff, TN; Bo (Barbie) Belton and Lindy Amerson, both of Fairview, TN; grandchildren, Cody Hollis, David Hollis, Chandra Williams, Elysium Williams, K.J. Bender, Jade Amerson, and Leia Amerson; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Hollis Booker of Dickson, TN and Anne Groves of Southside, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00p.m.; and will resume on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Funeral service will be April 5, 2023, at the White Bluff Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Taylor Town Cemetery in White Bluff, TN.
