Basil Owens Lamastus

Basil Owens Lamastus, age 94, of Dickson, TN, passed away May 29, 2021 at NHC in Dickson, TN. Basil was born February 15, 1927, in Dickson County, TN, to the late Arthur and Callie (Edwards) Lamastus. He is survived by a son, Randel (Barbara) Lamastus of Dickson, TN; sister, Geneva Waynick of Dickson, TN; three grandchildren, Tate (Sharon) Lamastus, Jeff Cavender, and Jason Cavender; four great-grandchildren, Ragan Lamastus, Miles Lamastus, Tessa Cavender, and Ryan Cavender. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, his daughter, Shirley Cavender; grandson, Tracy Lamastus; four brothers, Dudley B. Lamastus, Weaver Lamastus, J.C. Lamastus, and Eugene Lamastus; and five sisters, Betty Ruth Parchment, Margie Tidwell, Nadine Byrum, Florence Burgess, and Doris Byrum. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to: Shriner's Hospital for Children, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, or Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Dickson Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Graveside service will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Union Cemetery, at 10:30 a.m., with Bro.
