Antoinette Catherine Reeves

August 9, 1944 — July 29, 2021

Antoinette Reeves, 76, of Burns, Tennessee, passed away on July 29, 2021. Antoinette “Toni” was born on August 9, 1944 to Paul Sr. and Helen Tortorici in Chicago. After graduating from Josephinum High School in 1962, she worked for Northern Petrochemical in purchasing for many years and then retiring from Methode Electronics as a purchasing manager. In 1960, Toni met Calvin (Cal) Reeves in Junior Achievement, and they wed in 1962, going on to have 2 beautiful daughters, Cathryn and Christine. They started their married life in Chicago, moved to Des Plaines, IL, then Woodstock, IL and then ultimately enjoying their retired life in Tennessee. The family spent many vacations traveling the US and Canada and visiting our National Parks and camping with our large group of family friends in Wisconsin. She did many activities with her girls including being a girl scout leader and lots of fun field trips. Toni loved country music and her beloved dogs. Her and her dogs achieved many achievements in agility, hunting and field work. Prior to her passing, Toni taught dog classes and was a highly regarded instructor. As a hobby, which was her passion, Toni and Cal spent their time breeding and training Labrador retrievers in Woodstock, IL before heading to warm and sunny Tennessee for their final years. Toni loved entertaining, was an excellent cook and strived to make each holiday better than the previous. She loved spending time with her grandkids and made it a point of attending as many of their activities and sporting events as possible. Toni was predeceased by her husband Cal, her parents, Paul and Helen Tortorici, and nephew Brian Freese. She is survived by daughters Cathryn (James) Johnson and Christine (Timothy) Pyburn, brother Paul Jr. (Barbara) Tortorici, grandchildren Maximillian Johnson, Alyssa Pyburn, Jillian Johnson, Kelly Pyburn, and many nieces and nephews as well as many other extended family and friends.
