Anna S. Murrell

Anna S. Murrell- Age 97, of Parrottsville, TN passed away June 5, 2023.

She was born July 21^st, 1925 in Bainbridge, New York to the late Anna English and William Oliver Sites. She received a B.S. and M.S from Oneonta State Teacher’s College (now State University of New York) and taught in New Berlin, NY, Oak Ridge, TN, Fall School in Nashville and Oakmont School in Dickson, TN. She was also a member of Bon Aqua United Methodist Church, past matron of Dickson Chapter 291 O. C. S, Dickson County Retired Teacher’s Association, Dickson Study Club, Hickman County Arts and Crafts guild, The Tennessee Historical Society, and the Review Club. Some of her passions included watercolor painting, using colored pencils, and most of all reading.

Preceded in death by husband George W. Murrell; foster son Thomas Earl Dotson; sisters Elizabeth Sites & Daisy Van Valkenburgh; brother William Oliver Sites, Jr. Survived by her daughter Elizabeth Ann Holloway (William), grandchildren and joy of her life, Anne Cecelia Holloway & George Anthony Holloway; several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside service will be held 1:00pm, Monday June 12^th at Bon Aqua Methodist Cemetery (10762 Church Road, Bon Aqua). Visitation will be held 10:00am-12:00pm, Monday at Dickson Funeral Home, 209 E College Street, Dickson, TN, 37055, 615-446-2313, dicksonfuneralhome.com
