Roy Alton Lane

September 5, 1923 — June 7, 2016

Roy Alton “Jack” Lane, age 92 passed away on Tuesday, June 7th at NHC in Dickson, TN.  He was born on September 5th, 1923 in Dickson County to the late Lee and Ina Adams Lane.  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sue Watkins Lane; infant children, Mary Joan and Linda Diane Lane; brothers, Hardin, William “Boogie”, Glen “Huffer” and Albert “Snookie” Lane; sisters, Odie Ethridge, Alma Street, Louella Wilson, Linda Weatherspoon, Elizabeth Lane; and granddaughter Callie Lee Lane.  He is survived by two sons, Mark Steven Lane (Kaye) of Dickson, Scott Lane (Donna) of Mayville WI; three daughters Debra Mai “Deb” Sylvis and Sarita Sue “Shida” Lane both of Dickson, and Ina Lissa “Ika” Meador (Michael) of Ft. Payne, AL.  He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Funeral services for Mr. Lane will be held on Friday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethel Baptist Church with Brother Randy Franklin  officiating.   Interment will follow at Fews Chapel Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, June 9th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home, and again on Friday from 12:00 noon. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
