Mildred Jordan

Mildred Jordan (nee Fann) passed away on November 8, 2015 in Dickson, TN due to complications from a massive stroke. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Jordan was born on April 27, 1926 in Harrison, TN. She spent her childhood in Harrison before moving to Chattanooga. She met her husband, Oliver "Jack" Jordan in Chattanooga and spent the first half of their marriage there. They moved back to Jack's hometown of White Bluff in 1968, which has since been her home. Mrs. Jordan was an avid gardener, judging many flower shows through the years. She was an excellent bridge player and a member of several bridge groups. She loved to travel and was able to visit many countries around the world. She also enjoyed deer hunting and turkey hunting. In the 1960's, she received her pilot's license and flew regularly during that time. In her later years, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was especially devoted to her dogs, Fred and Hershey. She is survived by one sister, Tootsie Ridenhour of Marietta, GA; daughter-in-law, Dina Jordan of White Bluff; grandchildren, Kelley Littleton (Ed) of Dickson, Clay Jordan (Laurie) of Charlotte, and Laura Ferrell (Brent) of Burns; great-grandchildren, Emma, Zane, and Jed Jordan, Whitt and Russ Ferrell; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Byrdie Fann; her husband Jack Jordan; his children Bobby and Barbara Jordan; Jacks' grandson, Darron Hall; and five brothers and one sister. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 10th, at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverends Hyong Hong and Jackie Sojourner officiating. Entombment will follow at Williams Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dickson County Humane Association. Arrangements entrusted to Dickson Funeral Home, 209 East College Street, Dickson, TN 37055. Phone 615-446-2313.
